Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this 58mm bottomless portafilter compatible with my espresso machine?
A: This portafilter is designed for E61 group head machines with a standard 58mm binaural (two-ear) symmetrical fitting. Compatible brands include Expobar, Rocket, Faema, Rancilio, Gemilai, La Cimbali, Bezzera, Wega, and many more. If your machine uses a standard 58mm E61 group head, this portafilter should fit.
Q: What is the advantage of a bottomless portafilter over a spouted one?
A: A bottomless (naked) portafilter exposes the underside of the filter basket, allowing you to watch the espresso flow directly. This visual feedback makes it much easier to identify channeling, uneven tamping, or grind issues — helping you consistently produce better-tasting espresso shots.
Q: Is the portafilter easy to clean?
A: Yes. The detachable design means you can fully disassemble the portafilter for a thorough clean with no hard-to-reach corners. The aluminum alloy body and stainless steel basket are both resistant to corrosion and easy to rinse or soak.
Q: Does this come with a filter basket?
A: Yes, this portafilter includes a 58mm stainless steel filter basket that is compatible with Expobar 58mm baskets, so it is ready to use immediately upon arrival.
