Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What size espresso machines is this backflush blind filter compatible with?
A: This blind filter is designed for espresso machines with a standard 58mm portafilter diameter. It is compatible with most semi-automatic espresso machines that use a 58mm group head basket, such as many popular home and commercial-grade models. Always confirm your machine's portafilter size before purchasing.
Q: Do I need cleaning tablets to use this blind filter?
A: No — you can backflush using water alone. However, for a more thorough clean, you can use compatible espresso machine cleaning tablets or powder in conjunction with this blind filter. Always follow your machine manufacturer's recommendations for cleaning agents.
Q: How often should I backflush my espresso machine with this filter?
A: For home use, backflushing once a week is generally recommended. If your machine sees heavier daily use, a more frequent backflush cycle — even daily — will help maintain optimal performance and keep the group head free of coffee oil buildup.
