DR55B01 Motor Forward/Reverse Controller Module

Take full control of your DC motor direction with the DR55B01 Self-Locking Bistable Reverse Polarity Relay Module. Designed for makers, hobbyists, and electronics engineers, this compact CW/CCW controller lets you toggle motor direction with a simple low-pulse trigger — no complex wiring or programming required. Made in Mainland China from high-quality electronic components for stable, reliable performance.

Key Features

  • Self-Locking (Bistable) Operation: Trigger once to reverse polarity output (held); trigger again to restore normal output (held). State is maintained without continuous signal.
  • Easy Direction Control: Controls clockwise and counter-clockwise motor rotation; power on/off handles start and stop.
  • Built-In Indicators: Includes a power indicator LED and a reverse polarity indicator LED for instant status feedback.
  • Low Pulse Control: Operates on a 0.2–2 second low pulse trigger — simple and convenient for automation or manual switching.
  • Dual Voltage Versions: Available in DC 5V and DC 6–24V (12V) versions to suit a wide range of project requirements.
  • Compact & Lightweight: Measures just 43 × 21 × 16 mm and weighs only 13.5 g — perfect for space-constrained builds.

Specifications

Item Type CW/CCW Controller Module
Input Voltage DC 5V (5V version) / DC 6–24V (12V version)
Working Current Forward: 2 mA | Reverse: 35–40 mA
Load Voltage Equal to input voltage
Max Load Current 2A (general) / 1A (motor loads)
Control Mode Low pulse (0.2–2 seconds)
Dimensions 43 × 21 × 16 mm / 1.7 × 0.8 × 0.6 in
Weight 13.5 g / 0.5 oz

Pin Description

  • I+ – Power input positive
  • I– – Power input negative
  • O+ – Power output positive (outputs negative in reverse polarity mode)
  • O– – Power output negative (outputs positive in reverse polarity mode)
  • G – Trigger signal ground
  • T – Trigger signal input (0.2–2 second low pulse)

How It Works

  1. Power on → Output equals input (normal polarity).
  2. Press trigger → Reverse polarity output activated and held.
  3. Press trigger again → Normal polarity restored and held.
  4. Repeat as needed. Power off to stop output entirely.

Important Notes

  • Use a power supply rated at at least 2× the load power for stable operation; for motor loads, use 3× or more.
  • Maximum load current is 2A (general); for motor loads, limit to 1A max.
  • This module controls direction only — start/stop is managed by powering the module on or off.

What's in the Box

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What voltage versions does the DR55B01 Motor Forward Reverse Controller Module come in?

A: The DR55B01 is available in two versions: a DC 5V version and a DC 6–24V (12V) version, making it compatible with a wide range of DC power supplies and project setups.

Q: Can this CW/CCW controller module start and stop a motor?

A: No — the DR55B01 controls only the direction (forward/reverse) of the motor. Starting and stopping is handled by powering the module on or off, not by the trigger signal.

Q: What is the maximum current this reverse polarity relay module can handle?

A: The maximum load current is 2A for general loads. For motor loads specifically, it is recommended not to exceed 1A to ensure reliable, long-term operation of the module.

Q: How does the self-locking (bistable) feature work on this relay module?

A: Once triggered with a 0.2–2 second low pulse, the module latches into its new state (normal or reversed polarity) and holds it without any continuous signal. A second trigger pulse toggles it back — ideal for applications where state retention between triggers is needed.
