Important Usage Notes

  • The USB 3.0 interface supplies a maximum of 1A current. If your SSD requires more power, your computer may not recognise the drive. In that case, try connecting via a USB 2.0 port to reduce power consumption.
  • Avoid USB extension cables — they can reduce available current and cause the drive to malfunction.
  • Not compatible with SATA Mini PCI-E SSDs, PATA Mini PCI-E SSDs, or RAID Mini PCI-E SSDs.
  • The SSD may become warm during use — this is completely normal.
  • If your drive was password-protected in a previous computer, please remove the password first; otherwise the new system will not recognise it.
  • If the drive does not appear in "My Computer", open Disk Manager to partition and format the drive.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What types of mSATA SSD does this USB 3.0 adapter support?

A: This mSATA to USB 3.0 adapter card supports standard 3×5 cm (30×50 mm) mSATA SSDs. It is not compatible with SATA Mini PCI-E SSDs, PATA Mini PCI-E SSDs, or RAID Mini PCI-E SSDs, so please confirm your drive type before purchasing.

Q: Does the mSATA adapter work with Mac and Windows computers?

A: Yes — this adapter is compatible with Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, and 8, as well as Mac OS 7.0 and above. It is plug-and-play, meaning no additional drivers or software installation is needed.

Q: My computer isn't recognising the mSATA SSD through the adapter. What should I do?

A: First, ensure you are connecting directly to a USB 3.0 port on your computer (avoid USB hubs or extension cables). If the drive still isn't detected, try the USB 2.0 port — this reduces the power demand on the SSD. Also check that no hard disk password is set on the drive, and if the drive doesn't appear in Explorer, open Disk Manager to partition and format it.

Q: What are the physical dimensions of this adapter card?

A: The adapter measures 7.8 cm × 3.2 cm × 0.5 cm (approximately 3.07 inches × 1.26 inches × 0.20 inches), making it extremely compact and easy to carry alongside your laptop or in a toolkit.
