Soldering Iron Tip Cleaner Refresher Paste – Tip Tinner
Restore Your Soldering Iron Tip to Like-New Condition
Over time, soldering iron tips develop stubborn oxidation that turns them black, reduces tin adhesion, and shortens their working life. This Soldering Iron Tip Refresher Paste (Tip Tinner) is formulated with stannic phosphate to dissolve oxidation quickly, restoring full tinning performance in seconds — no need to replace expensive tips prematurely.
Made in Mainland China.
Key Features
- Removes oxidation fast — dissolves the black oxidised layer from the soldering iron tip, bringing it back to a bright, tin-receptive surface.
- Restores tin adhesion — tackles issues like tin not adhering, tip blackening, and acid erosion so your iron performs like new.
- Lead-free & environmentally friendly — contains no benzene by-products; safe for regular workshop use.
- Multiple size options — available in 6 g, 8 g, 16 g, and 30 g to suit hobbyists and professionals alike.
- Compatible with most soldering irons — works on standard iron tips operated between 300 °C and 360 °C.
How to Use
- Heat your soldering iron to between 300 °C and 360 °C.
- Press the iron tip into the refresher paste and rub it back and forth for a few seconds.
- Clean the tip with a solder sponge or copper wire tip cleaner.
- Apply a fresh layer of solder wire to the tip to coat and protect it.
- If oxidation remains, repeat steps 2–4 up to 3–4 times until the desired result is achieved.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What types of soldering iron tips is this refresher paste compatible with?
A: This soldering iron tip refresher paste is compatible with most standard soldering iron tips, including those used in hobby electronics, PCB assembly, and general-purpose soldering. It works best when the tip is heated to between 300 °C and 360 °C.
Q: How often should I use the soldering iron tip cleaning paste?
A: Use the tip tinner paste whenever you notice your iron tip becoming dark, failing to accept solder, or producing poor joint quality. For heavily oxidised tips, repeat the cleaning process 3–4 times. Regular use after each soldering session helps maintain tip longevity.
Q: Is this tip refresher paste safe to use indoors?
A: Yes. The formulation is lead-free and contains no benzene by-products, making it suitable for use in well-ventilated indoor workshop environments. Always ensure adequate ventilation when soldering at high temperatures.
