Installation & Safety Notes

  1. Before replacing the four-way valve, use a plastic plug to block the four nozzles to prevent impurities from entering. Check that the slider inside the main valve body is positioned to the left before welding; if not, gently tap the valve body to reposition it.
  2. Remove the coil of the pilot valve before desoldering to prevent damage during the welding process.
  3. Wrap the valve with a damp cloth before desoldering and during assembly welding. Never direct the flame toward the valve body.
  4. Immerse the valve assembly in water when replacing. Work one connection at a time — remove one pipe, then weld the new one — to control relative angles accurately.
  5. Use silver-containing brazing filler metal for best copper pipe weld quality. Copper-phosphorus brazing filler metal with flux is an acceptable alternative.
  6. Where possible, use nitrogen filling during welding to minimise oxide scale. After welding, purge the interior with nitrogen. Protect from moisture during cooling.
